Brief overview ...

On behalf of the International Broadcasting Bureau, a division of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which is the US agency responsible for Voice of America broadcasting worldwide, Logenix operates warehousing in the US and Europe and distributes communications equipment worldwide.

Over the past three years Logenix has executed over 300 shipments, weighing roughly 400,000 pounds, of communications equipment valued at over 15 million dollars to 37 different destinations in 28 different countries. Roughly ten percent of the shipments transit via ocean freight with the remainder transiting via air freight.

The ocean shipments are usually equipment updates for existing VOA centers in Morocco, Thailand, Botswana, Philippines, Kuwait, South Africa, Greece, Djibouti, Sri Lanka, and Marianas Islands. These shipments originate from our Virginia warehouse, direct from the IBB warehouse in Virginia, and from seven different vendors located throughout the US and one in Germany. These shipments for IBB are of utmost priority and sensitivity as they usually involve the construction of a new broadcasting center, as Logenix has recently performed for VOA broadcasting centers in Kabul, Herat, and Khandahar, Afghanistan, and for Baghdad, Basrah, and Mosul, Iraq, or for a broadcasting center which are 'down'.

Air shipments have been sent to Djibouti, Kuwait, Arab Emirates, Botswana, Austria, Morocco, Thailand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Greece, Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan, Cyprus, Ecuador, Peru, and Indonesia.

In December of 2002, Logenix International was tasked by IBB to arrange for the return of a complete Voice of America station from Belize back to the United States. Packaging supplies and shipper owned containers were purchased in the USA and shipped down to Belize in advance of the move.

When the transmitting station was disassembled, it was properly packaged and secured into the shipper owned containers for the return to the USA. Due to the non-regular ocean freight service between Belize and the USA, extensive research was completed by our ocean chartering staff in order to secure space on a vessel returning to the USA.

All shipments for IBB are managed, tracked, and reported via LTS 5.0.
