Operation Iraqi Freedom. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Brief overview ... As the logistics subcontractor to the Prime Contractor for the Air Force Contingency Augmentation Program (AFCAP), Logenix operated virtually 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the four months leading up to the Iraq War in March of 2003. Planning was accomplished over a two month period prior to equipment readiness from vendors. Expediting from vendors on an ex-works basis was accomplished from over 50 vendors throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Logenix received, checked, warehoused, packaged and transported, by ocean and air freight, over 3,000 metric tons (over 6 million pounds) of equipment, valued at over 30 million dollars. Warehousing services were accomplished in Logenix warehouses in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Over 100 ocean containers and 26 air charters were delivered to the following seven Middle Eastern countries: Kuwait, Pakistan, Egypt, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Delivery services in all countries were accomplished on a door-to-door basis requiring the duty exempt customs clearance and site delivery in all countries. In continuing support of AFCAP, Logenix has been intricately involved in the delivery and transport of camp units, tools, and generator sets into and within Iraq for US Military Bases. Expediting, receiving, and checking services were accomplished from vendors in Turkey for over 300 truck loads of camp equipment. Transit, including armed security arranged by Logenix personnel in Iraq, was completed to Kirkuk and BIAP. Another 120 truck loads of camp equipment were later transited from BIAP to Balad. Delivery services required the sourcing and supply of cranes to ground all equipment in Balad. Expediting, receiving, checking, and repackaging services have been accomplished in Logenix warehouses in the US, Europe and the Middle East. For the Al Karkh Water Plant, Logenix has arranged air and ocean charters, transporting building sized generators from various points in the US, Europe and the Middle East. Expediting, checking, and packaging/crating services were rendered in multiple locations in the US and Greece for consolidation onto chartered US Flag ocean vessels. Large convoys of 20 to 30 trucks were sent via both Jordan and Turkey. Delivery services, including transit customs formalities, armed security (both private and coordinated with the 2/7thst Cavalry) and heavy lift cranes for site grounding, were accomplished at the Al Karkh site. Additionally, large generators were air chartered from Middle East origins for the Al Rasheed Hotel and USAID compound. All line items of all Purchase Orders were reconciled and reported on via LTS 5.0. For this work Logenix received a published commendation from the USAF. View commendation here. |
