Area of operation: Guatemala
Brief overview ...
Logenix International, along with USAID/Guatemala played an active role in the disaster relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following Tropical Storm Stan.

In October, 2005, mud slides triggered by Hurricane Stan created as many as 2,500 orphans in Guatemala. The official death toll was more than 650. Another 400 were missing. Emergency workers estimated both numbers would rise dramatically.

Within days Logenix's B747 took off from Miami loaded with urgently needed hygiene kits and plastic sheeting for shelters. Infrastructure at Guatemala City airport and surrounding areas was badly damaged but Logenix was able to arrange off loading and delivery of the supplies.

In the following weeks additional multiple containers of shelter supplies were shipped by Logenix to USAID Guatemala.

Destruction in Indonesia
Destruction in Indonesia
Area of operation: Indonesia
Brief overview ...
On Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 5:54 a.m., local time, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck near the city of Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java. 6,000 people lost their lives, about 50,000 were injured, and more than 200,000 were displaced. Just under two weeks later, during the urgent deliveries being planned and executed by Logenix, the Mt. Merapi volcano in northern Sumatra erupted sending 15,000 people fleeing from the area.

By virtue of Logenix extensive knowledge of the region, last minute problem solving, expert planning, and our global network of partners, Logenix was able to execute a multi-route delivery of medical supplies and temporary shelters to both disasters in Indonesia.

Logenix worked closely with humanitarian organizations to swiftly provide aid to the victims. Logistically, the exercise was challenging. While initially trying to deploy medical supplies to the Java region, Logenix was asked to redirect supplies to the Sumatra city of Medan. As the major airport for the Sumatra region Medan cannot accommodate wide body aircraft, which complicated a large quantity delivery, and traditional routes were severely backlogged. Logenix, utilizing our experience and network of partners worldwide managed to deliver supplies almost immediately to both disaster regions.

Relief operations in Pakistan
Area of operation: Pakistan
Brief overview ...
On the morning of October 8, 2005 at 8:50 AM, an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale tore through the northern regions of Pakistan and India killing over 80,000 people and leaving almost 3 million more homeless.

Logenix, working with USAID/OFDA, provided rapid service to send 10,500 Meals Ready to Eat (MRE's) into Islamabad for distribution into the disaster area. By providing an expert cost savings combination of scheduled and air charter service, Logenix was able to deliver the urgent supplies in an immediate and cost efficient manner.
